How do different NdFeB grades (N, H, SH, UH, EH) affect high-temperature performance?
Answer:
The main difference lies in intrinsic coercivity (Hcj). Higher temperature grades (H → EH) contain more heavy rare earth elements or advanced grain boundary diffusion, allowing them to resist demagnetization at elevated temperatures, but usually at the cost of slightly lower remanence (Br).
What is the practical difference between Hcj and Hcb?
Answer:
Hcj indicates resistance to irreversible demagnetization and is critical for motors and high-temperature applications. Hcb relates to reversible magnetization loss and is more relevant for magnetic circuit design. Hcj is generally the more important parameter for reliability.
